| I love how the start sounds sorta like "The Beat Goes On" It would be totally cool for a concert start with like half of TBGO, and then melts into Brave New Girl. One thing I dont like about it though, is from the MTV preview in the Spring, the chorus is totally not what I expected from this song. It's much more poppy than it should have been.
I've actually grown to like it... actually I've grown to love it, but my first impression wasn't the greatest. Its all good though. Its catchy, and up beat. By far the most upbeat song on the album, so there's where the bonus points come from.
I could do with less of the computerized vocals, but they're all right. Stronger was enough computerized vocals. This is a bit much.
Hey, does anybody else hear "When I Found You" in the break of this song? (I think its WIFY, or I Run Away or something) |

| I really like this song (and no...I'm not one of those people that wanted her to continue working with Max Martin)...
The production is good...but not great...I see what they were trying to achieve with the effects, but the song isn't quite up to snuff due to the cheesy build-up of the chorus (which sounds kind of thin and corny)...if this song were given to Daft Punk, William Orbit, Mirwais, Basement Jaxx, Stuart Price, etc. to produce...it would have been a stellar track...as it stands, it's just a little too polished and sanitized...it needs a rougher edge...more percussion or guitars in the chorus (to balance out the electro effects)...it also doesn't sound complete...they should have incorporated some of the initial rapping into the end of the song so that it comes full circle...
This is why Britney should seek out the people who have perfected the sound she's going for, rather than settle for B grade imitators...

| Oh Gosh you all are so harsh!
If you guys read the book Brave New World, I think that is where Britney got the title from, and the whole concept of the "futuristic electonica" sound to it.
Other than that, I think it's her "Britney Goes Shopping" song. It's so fun. I just love it! Pure POP music, baby!!! ^_^

Pure POP music, baby!!! ^_^ | i've read that book. it's quite good. it's quite obvious that she named her song along the lines of that book's title. but i'm pretty sure it was not the inspiration for the futuristic sound.
anyway, some people don't like that pure pop sound. i don't like it because it sounds saccharine and manufactured. i like music that sounds more refined, more real -- and this song is neither of those. and that's not harsh, it's personal opinion. it's only harsh to you because you like the song so much, and that ain't a big deal. people like what they like. no biggie. |
