That's exactly what I thought when I saw the picture. Maybe she just broke up with somebody, or lost a family member, or a dog or something, and he's just comforting her?

I mean, people see a picture of them talking, and having lunch and they jump to "they're having consentual sex, he's going to jail". Now people see a picture of them hugging, and "They're having consentual sex, he's going to jail, and she's a whore" (in reference to people at JM.com, not Ashleigh. )

Those are some big gaps to be jumping. Quite dangerous, too.

Also, I don't know if this is still true, but Joel wears a promise ring on his finger. It's a promise to his mother that he will remain a virgin until he's married. So if he still wears it, then I think we can just clear that whole theory from the board.

It's disgusting for people to hug when they're nine years older than the other person??? Damn, my parent's should be in jail.

And where on earth do you get "they're dating" out of that hug? I mean, it's easy to say that right now, because you've heard the rumours, you have your suspicions to begin with. Pretend that was Joel's little sister, not Hilary Duff. I see nothing wrong with the hug in that respect.

And this has been going on for months. And by this I mean pictures of them together, her wearing a bracelet with his name on it. If they are not dating then I don't know. And who gives a fuck if they are??! Grrrrrrr. I can't stand the fact that if my opinion doesn't agree with everyone else's then it's wrong.

And I asked you how do you get "they're dating" out of that hug? As in, I wanted you to explain why you think that hug indicates they're dating. I was asking you to explain your opinion.

But of course, people on here get so defensive and throw words in my mouth when I try to promote discussion. And then people think I'm the one that likes to start arguements. Whatever.

Okay, that's completely irrelevant to the conversation. I would still like my question answered. "How do you get "they're dating" out of that hug?" Honestly, tell me what it is about the picture that tells you that they're dating.

P.S., I've only threatened to leave the board once, and when I came back I stated clearly that I wasn't going to be hanging around much, I'm moving next week, and I've been quite distracted with that. And with tonight being my last shift, this upcoming week is going to be a lot of distractions for me, therefore these may be my final posts here. But, again, I said this would happen when I came back a few weeks ago, so this should be nothing new to some people.

No, you're absolutely right, it's not a huge difference. They do look good together. Joel looks like he cares a lot about her, and she looks happy. I can't hope for anything but that for them.

*siiiiiiiiiiiigh* I still stand by what I said earlier. And I still think that a brother and sister DON'T hug on eachother like that. It just goes back to the fact that I am not allowed to have an opinion that goes against everyone else's.
