Default I NEED Some HELP Finding AWESOME Songs

Hey

Ummm every Christmas I burn my friends CDs, and this year I can't think of a theme yet, but I have started planning out the tracklist and I need help finding some good songs

So I was wondering if you guys could recommend any good songs by the following artists:

Sarah McLachlan
Jonny Lang
Sum41
The Ataris
Josh Groban
Dashboard Confessional
Joss Stone
Michelle Branch
Lit
Blus Traveler
Phish
Hootie & The Blowfish
The All-American Rejects (I have their album, but was wondering if they had acoustic or slower stuff)
AFI
BBMak
Nirvana
The Killers

Or any other artist that you think is good (NO R&B/Hip-Hop/Rap/Country, I just don’t like that music, or Poppy Crap like Hilary Duff or Techno)

I’ve heard much of these artists singles and have some of their albums, but need some help finding their best songs, particularly ones that haven’t been discovered by mainstream. So don’t bother telling me their famous singles

This year, I’m looking for a more mature, solid CD

Here’s the tentative tracklist (not in order yet) so far (I do only one song by every artist, so that’s why there’s more than one song listed, because I haven’t decided yet):
1. Precious Things – Tori Amos
2. Wake Up – Three Days Grace
3. Solitude/Missing/Anywhere – Evanescence
4. Forget It/Follow/Medicate – Breaking Benjamin
5. A Place In The Sun/Everything Breaks Sometime – Jewel
6. That Particular Time/No Pressure... – Alanis
7. No Doubling Back/Unfold/Too Much Food – Jason Mraz
8. Krwling/My December – Linkin Park
9. By The Bed/Knowitall/Turn, Smile, Shift, Repeat – Phantom Planet
10. Misery/Are We The Waiting/Letterbomb/Castaway – Green Day
11. Only Ashes – Something Corporate
12. I Shall Believe – Sheryl Crow
13. Pretty Donna/Needs – Collective Soul
14. Try – Nelly Furtado ?
15. The Ghost Woman & The Hunter – Lacuna Coil ?
16. Through With You – Maroon 5 ?

Like I said, I try not to do singles, but some are really good that it doesn’t really matter and this is a tentative tracklist, so if you guys think of better songs from the artist I’ve already decided on that’d be great too

Thanks for any suggestions and for the help!

Joe

Hmm I dont know much by the artists on that list, but on your tentative tracklist, I'd put Sunday Morning by Maroon 5 instead of TWY because TWY is such an angry song for the holiday season.

And Somebody's Baby (Jackson Browne cover) is a really cute song by Phantom Planet.

Not really, I was really into their cover of Somebodys baby which appeared on Not Another Teen Movie, and I wanted to download another song of theirs (this was like summer of 03) and I was getting ready for my trip to California, so I downloaded their song California. And then like 2 months later the OC came on and that was the theme song. It was kinda weird.

The All-American Rejects have an acoustic song called 'The Cigarette Song' which is a B-side. It's pretty good...or in my opinion it is.

Oohh, if you like Tori Amos, download "Rasberry Swirl"...and while you're at it, get the music video too. Pure genius!
