yea, here everyone listens to hip-hop (it's annoying) and i'm the only one that listens to rock/pop. And they always ask "why do u like that music" or my personal fave "that's weird music" lol

Yes..I listen to a lot of non-main stream rock, and they have no clue what i am listening to so they automatically want to turn it off. I don't think so.

Everyone around me loves that hard rock stuff that I can't stand. I'm more poppish, but they kinda respect that. It's a lot of fun to pump up the car radio to Hilary Duff when they're riding with me to see them suffer.

I tend to like more pop-punk and rock, and the friends that I usually hang out with listen to rap/hip-hop and Christian, but they're pretty accepting of that [the remainder of my friends listen to pop-punk and rock]. If they're over at my house, we listen to what I wanna listen to and if we're at their house, we listen to what they wanna listen to. I don't always feel out of place, it's just that we have different tastes, that's all.

ALL THE DAMN TIME!

Overall the people i talk to ONLY listen to punk and it annoys the hell out of me. They are "anti-mainstream" and i am the total opposite, i listen to what i like no matter what.

I respect the music because yes they are around on their own without radio support or whatever but it annoys the hell out of me sometimes

I sure as hell do. I barely find people online that know who I like, much less in person.

I DO like a lot of mainstream though, and people either know who they are or have no fucking idea. Its like there is no "Oh, I kind of know them"

With the exception of this girl referring to Beck as 'the skinny dude'
