Britney Billboard update: IN THE ZONE/MATM - Eternal Allegiance

It dosnt appear that the commercial single released helped MATM at all as the single drops from #78 to #81 in it's 10th week on the chart. Although it still had a good run u can't help but wonder what could have happened if the single had been released earlier and more widespread. In my opinion, the single for 'TOXIC' should be in stores on Jan. 13, the day after the official release to radio. And singles can really help. Look am Eamon's 'fuck it', it was the greatest gainer in sales this week, and it rose about 20 places. It's airplay also went up too though. Maybe they dont count as much as they used to, but they can still help, i think, if they are done correctly. (cd singles).

The album chart had not been updated yet. People are a little to quick to beleive HITSdailydouble's numbers. They are most of the time, a little bit off. Like last week, they had ITZ at #8. Really last week it was #7. This week i htink it closed out with ITZ at #12. But britneyspears.org is reproting a number 8 showing.

The single wouldnt have counted yet on the chart, since it came out this week. It won't impact until next week.

the album chart updated and IN THE ZONE is #10 in its 4th week on the chart. According to Billboard it has also gone 2X platnum, which is a feat that clay aiken and hilary duff have also acheived, but in a much larger span of time. Sales are looking great!

Not true. Clay was double platinum in his second week due to pre-sales, online sales, and retail.

a lot of the BIG albums from this past year have either only gotten 2X platnum or have not quite got there yet. Like THANKFUL by kelly clarkson, THIS IS ME....THEN by j. lo, METAMORPHASES by hilary duff,MEASURE OF A MAN by clay aiken, BEG FOR MERCY by g-unit, AWAY FROM THE SUN by 3 doors down and DANGEROUSLY IN LOVE by beyonce. It took those albums most of the year to get 2x platinum. ITZ did it in only a month!GO BRITNEY!!
Albums that are currently on the chart and have beaten ITZ in sales are : FALLEN by evanescence, METEORA by linkin park, which both went 3X platinum. COME AWAY WITH ME by norah jones has gone 8X platinum, and UP by shania twain has gone 10 X platinum, or diamond.

oo - sorry, didnt know about the clay thing...it's still sitting at 2x platinum though, behind britney.

Good grief. Are you on drugs? The album came out like a month before hers, of course itll be a bit lower than hers which pretty much just came out. Who cares if its behind her. Its still 2x platinum and got there quicker than Britney, which was my point. *slaps forehead*

i was just stating the fact that it was lower. Of course it should be, i never said it shouldn't. I said sorry, didnt realize clay did that. go clay woo hoo *sarcastically*. My point is it is still only 2X platinum after being there for 2 months! I think Britney's will do better than that...only time will tell.
