Well, to correct Benji, Disney made Hilary. American Idol made Kelly, and well, MTV made Good Charlotte  .
I have to confess, the American Idol thing still bugs me about Kelly. Though I feel she's broken away from it, now. But the more I think about it, the more I think it just proves she has the talent. I don't think Hilary has talent. I have to honestly say that from my point of view. She has so much build up around her that she's famous for being famous, first and foremost. Yes, she has catchy songs (in some ears) and she's enjoyable to see on the big screen (in some eyes) but she's not famous for her "talent".
Yes, a gimmick is what got Kelly to where she is today. But if you want to cut the gimmick cake, give Lizzie Maquire (sp?) the bigger slice. When Kelly starts rolling out the clothing lines, perfumes and the movies (Note: Kelly has made it clear the only reason she did "From Justin To Kelly" was because she was obligated to) then we'll see about that.
I don't mean to diss Hilary or anything. I really don't hate her. But I just think, when it all boils down, Hilary couldn't stand alone on just her talent. But Kelly can certainly hold her own.
And another thing, Benji holds a bias (but he kind of hinted that). | |

I like them all involved in this, BUT its stupid of Benji to diss Kelly after she said a joke. I doubt it bothers Hilary, so why should it bother him? People need to chill and takes jokes. 
SIDE NOTE: I think Kelly would have gotten a record contract even if she WASENT on AI, that being my opinion of course.

Like a lot of threads, I felt I should add the "so let's bash the person NOT commenting" before anyone came in here and went all out on Hilary when she's really not involved...so it was a general statement. Threads normally turn into bashing the uninvolved party, so that's really all it was The only thing with your post I didn't agree with is the whole Kelly would have a record deal if she didn't do AI thing. | |

I don't think it depends on who you came in contact with to get a record deal and how, it depends on if you can bring it. In the end, all the famous people lucked out at one point, because someone discovered them and saw something in them.
But they still have to work it themselves, talent or no talent. Those who don't work it, aren't around long. | |
