| Anyone notice...(Kelly Clarkson related) | | That the Since U Been Gone guitar, at the beginning, and mostly throughout the song, sounds like the guitars on "1979" by the Smashing Pumpkins? It's always reminded me of 1979 when it came on, and I was listening to 1979 earlier and it reminded me of SUBG and I thought it was funny. I mean, theyre not identical, but its weird when two completely different songs kind of compliment each other. Just wondered if anyone else ever noticed. IVe thought it for awhile, but just figured I'd post it now, since SUBG is on right now. I've asked some of my friends, and they NEVER thought about it until I pointed it out, and they agree that theyre really similar and they were mad because now theyll think of both songs when one of them is playing lol.
(If you've never heard 1979, download it. It's a classic and a really good song.) |

| And did you notice that "I Just Want You To Know" by Backstreet Boys is pretty much the same song entirely as "Since U Been Gone"?
But I never thought aboot the SP thing. I haven't heard that song since, like, 1979 I'll listen for it though. |

| I have thought about that because I remember thinking "hmm, I wonder if SUBG was given to BSB first and they rejected it but made another song from it" LOL |

| Nah... it was probably more Max Martin going "Hmm... this worked for Kelly... Maybe it'll work for the backstreet boys" so he wrote the song and went "oops!... I did it again... AGAIN!"
Damn, there was a lot of elipses in that. |

| nevamind...i thought SUBG was written by Butch Walker, so I was going to say in that case it was probably given to Avril first...but it wasn't written by him, so nevamind. |
