Usher to star in new movie! - Eternal Allegiance

R&B singer Usher is set to star in and executive produce a new film called 'Step in the Name of Love'.

Variety says that the film is described as an urban 'Saturday Night Fever' and focuses on 'steppin', a derivative of swing dancing.

Usher's other film credits include 'She's All That' and 'The Faculty'.

He will soon be seen as legendary singer Jackie Wilson in 'Unchain My Heart: The Ray Charles Story', the new film from 'Proof of Life' director Taylor Hackford, which stars Jamie Foxx in the lead role.

OMG the stepping thing needs to stop. I swear R. Kelly's "Step In The Name Of Love" and "Happy People" are the same song AND video.

I'm sure I'll see the movie though

Usher's a pretty good actor, moderate, but not the best. I wouldn't mind Tyrese but I'm getting really sick of Usher. Just stick to music, and then go for movies....after a while.

Usher's a decent actor...I loved "Light It Up" but I don't remember him being spectacular. I'd like to see something new for sure.

I think it's natural to want to venture into different projects...yeah, it can be annoying that every singer wants to become an actor with a clothing line (or vice versa)...but people eat it up. Like, if there's a singer who I really like, chances are, I'd go see their movie.
