Usher has confirmed he is engaged.

The singer's spokeswoman announced the happy news on Friday (30.03.07), revealing Usher has proposed to stylist lover Tameka Foster.

Publicist Simone Smalls didn't provide any further details, although Usher, 28, has previously said he would love to marry before the end of the year.

Engagement rumours were rife earlier this year after Tameka was seen wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring.

Friends also revealed the R'n'B singer was introducing Tameka - who he has been dating for over a year - as his fiancée.

However, Usher's mother Jonetta Patton may not be so happy to hear about the engagement.
