Metallica is pretty cool I guess but I think the next Icon should be the Beatles, I know there is only 2 guys left but they are definatly Icons for sure. They should make icons show about groups/ singers who have been around a long time,even though the Beatles are gone but hey thats just my opnion

While the beatles are great, the MTV Icon award is basically an award for people that have been around since they first aired a music video. So people like the beatles, rolling stones, and elvis are never going to be nominated.

People like following may end up getting the award at some point...
Madonna (which some say she was offered the award but turned it down, and was replaced by janet)
Micheal Jackson
Nirvana
Green Day

Yeah, I understand what yer sayin. Thats cool, though I mean I wasent bashing Metallica I just think someone else that has been around longer should deserve it, oh well. I'l still watch the Metallica one, Im curious to see who will cover their songs
