| I've been listening to "Unspoken" A LOT lately. I like about 1/2 of Comalies. The songs I like=I like a lot. The songs I don't=I hate. It's a sort of polarized album for me, but there's definetly some good songs on there. Haven't heard their new stuff, but I think it's funny how many people have covered "Enjoy The Silence." |

| It's definitely not a cover I expected from this band. They do it well though. Very well. On Comalies, as well as it's predecessor they have songs that absolutely stand out from the rest. That's probably your polarisation right there. I like most of their songs, though I have to admit I like them a lot more now than I did before I saw them live. There's just something about them that gets me going.
I went to see Cristina at the signing stand... she is HOT. |

| what is your opinion on the guy's voice in their songs? [in regards Comalies.] To me, his vocals are too theatrical. I understand the band is going for that type of image, but the tone in his voice reminds me of The Phantom of the Opera, how it is so dramatic and overdone. I love Cristina's voice, but the guy sort of ruins it for me. That is why I cannot listen to Nightwish. I bought "Once" and listened to it once because it was too pretentious.
But I LOVE LOVE LOVE Within Temptation, especially The Silent Force, though Mother Earth is a great album as well, though I can't rip ANY of the songs from it on to my computer because it's an import and has some weird lock on it, which sort of sucks because i want to get it on my iPod, but I'll live I guess. |

| I agree with you on Andrea's voice on that album. He's gotten better though. They did a bunch of those songs on stage too, and he didn't sound near as annoying. So that's a plus. lol
Ah yes WT, also one of my favourites. Of course I might be a little biased cause they're from my country, but their music is definitely strong. I like the Silent Force more than Mother Earth too. They also made good progress. *nods*
And now we go see if Evanescence is gonna join them in that list. |

| It may a little weird posting this in an Evanescence thread, but as you mentioned Lacuna Coil, I'd thought, why not?! I just saw their video for "Enjoy The Silence" on a video channel and it sounds good indeed. Could someone give me some links to more Lacuna Coil songs?
To bring it back on topic, I also saw Evanescence's new video recently on the television. Good one and the songs's good as well. |

I don't really agree though, because in the metal circuit a lot of bands are inspired by eachother and we don't mind that either. There's always one or two bands who are the best and those are usually the originals, the ones who thought it up. I think Evanescence picks it up quite well. Their location works in their advantage because most of these bands keeping the quality high are European. The best metal bands come from Scandinavia and Germany. While the mainstream circuit in the US pretty much only focusses on their own products. Evanescence is doing a well enough job being that bridge for the genre to get more media exposure in the US. That is at least how I see it. LC just finished their tour in the US and it seems like they're breaking through now. A couple of years ago nobody knew who they were.
The only thing that bothers me about Evanescence is the pitch in Amy's voice when she begins to yell. It's too dominating. While I'd much rather hear her do it than say Christina Aguilera, I do think the band's music is their biggest asset. I've heared CMWYS a couple of times on the radio now, and I don't hear any improvement in Amy's voice since their last album. But the music seems to have progressed though. We shall see what the album is gonna feature. |
