Until August 2001, I was also on a 56k modem, so, I know how you must feel.... angry not ot be able to download huge videos and what you want.
There's one tip I can give you: prospect the Britney websites you know, and when they offer several videos you want (if those come out at the same period), try to find an "Easy Everything" Cyber café... they offer low prices for a machine with fast Internet connection, you can download the amount of data you want, and when it's done, you can choose to keep those, then you have to pay a bit to be able to put those on a cd-r.
I did it quite often in the past... the other surfers at the cybercafé were always quite astonished to see a guy sitting i nfront of a machine for about 4 to 5 hours downloading Britney videos.
