"Thank goodness, neither one of us ate. According to the health department, she wasn't at risk," her publicist Alan Nierob was quoted as saying by news reports.
Much media attention was drawn to Beyonce as she was initially suspected of being infected with hepatitis A.
The bash was on Feb 14 in West Hollywood, California and attended by Beyonce , who is the cover girl in the issue and many of the magazine's models.
The scare of hepatitis A outbreak was originally from a cook of celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, according to the Los Angeles County Department Of Public Health.
County health officials said guests at the Valentine's Day party and many other parties were potentially at risk.
Although as many as 3500 people, who attended 13 event parties between February 3 and February 20, might have been affected, as of Feb 28, no cases of illnesses were reported, according to the county health department.
Hepatitis A is a viral infection can cause damage to the liver. Patients often have symptoms including loss of appetite, jaundice, fatigue, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and fever.
The infection can occur when hands are not washed before dining or the food is contaminated with the virus. Hand-washing can help prevent the virus from spreading. |
