This is what the signatures are for, people. There is no need to add it 'to the left' when we can add it 'at the bottom'. Also, when writing a letter or a post, it is common knowledge that when you add your name, you do it at the bottom of the text you have just written. You must have learned that in school, not?
Also, too many people won't put anything there because they don't even wish to reveal their name. In order for an option to be added to the left, at least more than 70% of the board population must be able to use it. I doubt that is the case here. If you want your real name added to the left anyway, you may request a username change.
So basically, the poll is useless because the decision has been made some time ago that this option will not be added, for it takes up space where it is not neccessary.
