Exclamation Will BritneySpearsNow.com continue?

It's sad to see BritneySpearsNow.com go. For the last couple of years it was my favourite and it will always be. My experencies gave me a professional and respectfull view regarding this website. It always featured high quality content, a well organized picture archive and the real Britney fan spirit. Kostaki made me realize why I shouldn't publish personal life invading material. We discussed this when the "famous" mp3 came public featuring a swearing Britney.
After tonight, the online community regarding Britney Spears will never be the same. BSN gone, WOB gone, leaving BritneySpears.org as one of the few pioneers.

I know this is not the time, neither the moment. I will say it though ...

BSN became one of the sites where Britney's fans could go to. It gave them information, support, just a little time, away from their busy, fastgoing world. I hate to see it go. If no one will stand up to continue its work, I'm willing to. I can't pay the hosting costs, and I know you don't like pop-ups Kostaki but it's almost impossible to do without these days. It will be hosted on Peel accounts. Together with the fans, we can make it work and continue the chemistry of BSN. If you are interested Kostaki, just send me personal message or e-mail.

Just for the record, I did NOT make this proposition for personal benefits. I just don't like to see the website go, neither do the fans. If DME will still continue, or someone else will ... that's great too ... as long as someone wants to. BSN has earned the chance to keep on going. I also feel it's too much in one day ... two major britney sites in one day ... it's probably in the air.

Regards,

Well it's all up to Kostaki. So there's nothing we can do.

I feel your vision. It's a loss to all of us, yes. But the facts are there. Kostaki does not have the motivation to continue the way he did at first, but maybe, just maybe, Brit will do something extraordinary which might give him the juice back.

But as the way things look now, I don't think you can count on that. Also, he said he'd rather let the site die than resort to annoying pop-ups, which I think he is right about. I'd also rather choose to have a slow site without pop-ups than a big one with them.

I agree that BSN was one of the higher quality sites out there and that it's a damn shame that it had to go to waste. I feel that a site similar to it should be resurrected to even up the odds again. Now, my school, or college as they call it in the US, is over pretty soon, and I have already worked out some plans to become a bit more active in the webmastering scene again.

Though, I'd like to keep the tradition of my name alive and see that the project I am planning out is gonna be a stinging one. The recordlabels used to benefit from BSN and then gave Kostaki a firmly planted low blow as reward. I can promise them one thing. If my plans were to become reality after I finished school, those guys won't be benefitting as they did in the past.

But that's still future talk. I'd rather bring it, than sing it. Just remember that this ain't the end just yet.

I agree with you regarding the pop-ups. I'm webmastering quite a while now though and became familiar with the ads agencies available regarding websites. The whole market collapsed the last couple of years and the only thing making money is ... pop-ups. It's a simple choice ... a website with pop-ups or no website at all. Both BSN as WOB faced problems regarding bandwidth costs. Even pop-ups couldn't save WOB anymore, it just grew to large (both in contents as in visitors). I feel it is possible to run a good and decent website with high quality contents ... it will require pop-ups though and contents should be more efficient (video in other formats, pictures in smaller sizes). Free webspace is not the way to host a site, donations from visitors isn't either. The last resource available would be online merchandising but face it, Britney's fans are app. 10-17 years old, not able to spend a lot of money on posters, cd's, t-shirts, etc.

Life for a webmaster is not as easy as some people think, unfortunately.
