LOL ive been telling everyone the same thing lol but hey im from vt and im used to it being like -45 and the high of -25 oh that was fun..but hey how cold does it get over there? cant be much worse than that...well i hope for your sake

What may be warm to you....is cold to us. That's that. There's nothing you can change about that. Quit complaining.

Also you got to remember that we have a lot of wind in Kansas. The wind chill can get into the negatives and it's just as cold when it's not even blowing that hard. You can practically see the cold air with your eyes. So actually because of the wind chill, we are worse off than you.

Our winters here are between -35/-45, I ain't complaining cuz I love winter. The colder the better!

oh geez. don't be a whiner.

if someone's not used to the cold or the amount of snow, it will come as a shock to them. simple as that. dealing with it every year is different than having moderate weather with a few bad storms.

let's pretend it's summer, mmkay? i doubt you know the kind of heat some regions of the USA can get. and i doubt you'd be able to stand it for a few months on end. i've been to norway during the summer...and it's NOWHERE near as warm as some parts of the states. people were wearing sweaters and coats EVERYWHERE in the middle of AUGUST. august! the mean yearly temperature happens to be lower there than here. so of course you're going to think the coldest US temperatures aren't all that bad. but it's an odd occurrence here, and that's why it makes the news.

i'd like to see you survive in central california during the summer, with one month of no air conditioning. i did, and it's NOT PRETTY. and it's STILL not as bad as some parts of the midwest and east coast.

warm for me would be 25 normaly up here in the summer it gets 23 up to 25... so if thats hot for me and cold for you.. hmmmm . ok thats cold

I feel the same way when watching the american news channel and they're complaining about 5 inches of snow! And then they're like "you could freeze in less than 30 minutes" and it's like "wanna come over here and freeze in 30 seconds"? It usually doesn't get any lower than -40* here without the windchill. The windchill can drop it down approximately another 10*...

But then I think that we would probably be complaining about really hot weather when it's normal in, say, California! I HATE hot, hot weather and the hottest weather we usually get here in the summer is 40*C (I'm not sure what that is in *F..) But I think I'd die if I had to live anywhere that didn't get snow!

Anyways...my point is that we laugh at how they complain about the cold and they might laugh at how we complain about the heat!

Make sure you're taking into account the different scales of temperature -- most people use Celcius, where the U.S. still uses Farenheit.

And...don't generalize Americans. For one -- not all areas here are cold. Learn your geography -- not all areas of Cali are hot, either. Two -- I live in one of the colder areas, and I think it's beautiful outside. I love this weather -- I'd much rather cover up with cozy blankets than sweat my ass off when all I'm wearing is a bikini.
