OH MY GOSH! I went to turn on my computer and the monitor wouldn't turn on! So then I look at some plugs behind it and it turned on. So then I log on to my name and well not the same backround I don't have the same task bar and I lost all my documents. That's pictures, BRITNEY SPEARS EVERYTHING, blends, anime, art, songs, ETC.! So I know my Mom's password so I check her's well everything is there. I don't know my brother's but I am sure everything is there. I have Windows XP...now I don't know if my profile will ever come back, because it says my profile has been lost!

you should call the store where you bought your computer, and they should have some phone numbers that you can call for trouble-shooting with your comp. and they should be able to help you get your files back. if trouble-shooting doesn't work, they will probably ask you to ship them your computer, and they should fix it for free if it's under warranty.

my hard drive just crashed on my comp (i'm on my sisters right now). i think my computer got a virus from a file i was downloading on kazaa. and i know how it feels to lose files.....almost 1,000 mp3's, graphic design files, pictures, doll-avatar designs, downloaded programs, mpeg videos......yep it sucks! i hope your get your files back.

Awww..thanks...I wish you and me could get our files back! Err....I hate this...I got it at Wal*Mart and it's a HP so I don't get it because it's not a cheap brand....thanks for suggestions though! If I wake up my brother my Mom and him will yell at me so he will just have to find out for himself!

you can also go to the HP website and they should have some technical support on there as well. i hope this helps you out

i had over 60 something of Britney's unreleased songs and remixes on my computer, so when I get it fixed, I'm gonna be searching all over the next to get them back

hmm, normaly if your profile is lost that doesnt mean that the files are gone.
the files should still be there, only your personal settings and stuff is saved in your profile.
and not all the files you downloaded they are still there on the hard drive.
try to login is administrator (the first password u have to type in at the installation process).
if it doesnt show u the admin as user u have to press ctrl + alt + del twice.
then the normal login screen (without the graphics and stuff just the login window) will pop up and u can login as administrator.
the admin has access to all files on the pc just do a search for ur files im sure they are still there.

...that your profile might have been corrupted, and that you'll be logged in with a temporary account?

If so, try taking a look at http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;q318011 - I experienced that yesterday, and had to fiddle around to get my profile back (some of it - mail settings had to be manually restored)...

Random thought: You may wanna boot in Safe Mode if that is even possible in WinXP..I still have Win98SE. Try holding down Shift while it boots up, and maybe there's a way to bypass this entire profile thing.

THANKS FOR ALL WHO HELPED! Hehe I took deliriou5_girl's advice! I called HP and the guy helped me and now everything is back to normal! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING! YAY! I still have all my Britney stuff! Let's celebrate!
