TAKE OFF ALL OF THE SHORTCUTS!!! if there is a small arrow in a white box next to the icon on your desktop, you should get rid of it! the main reason computers go so slow is because of all of the useless shortcuts it has to load. all of those items can be reached through the programs folder or wherever u put them. people with shortcuts all across the desktop have to wait like 10 mins for everything to be loaded! just some info...

another tip is get rid of all those damn icons on the system tray.

go to run
and type msconfig

then go to startup tab and click on all the loading icons you dont use.

it should speed up your system.

Also the cheapest way to speed up your system is to add more RAM

if after this is still too freaking slow...buy another computer, it should solve the problem quick.
