Default For those of you on the Evolutionary Theory Bandwagon...

Something to further support evolutionary theory -- a group of paleoanthropolgists just unearthed a 7,000,000 year old skull, in tact, that dates back to the evolutionary split between chimps and humans. They named him Toumai - or "hope of life" in local, tribal dialect.

Page 76 of this month's Popular Science -- I just read it. Sorry to all of you who believe that the world was created according to the Bible...I'm not saying you guys suck or anything. Just sharing this info because I think it's cool, and I am fascinated to the point of obsession.

I find that kind of discovery things pretty fascinating as well. It's awesome that they keep finding skulls and bones and many different things that are so real and old and that they use as hints so they can know more about what really happened on that chimp-human split. But that's still nothing and it still doesn't get us anywhere. There's so much that we haven't discovered yet and that maybe, we never will. But the more they find and the more we know about the past, the more insteresting it gets. That's foshigga'.

I got the chance to study pretty cool stuff abour religion when I was in 10th grade. It was deep stuff and I mean it when I say it was the tougher subject we had that year. But I found it so interesting because one of the million things we got talk about and learn about was the "world created by the Bible" thing and all the other theories that we got to study in Biology. Fact is that nobody knows what really happened and we might never know. The Biblical theory is still there and it's a valid theory in terms of human faith but it's not valid at all in terms of biological facts. Forget the other theories as well, like the BigBang one because it's not real and for the best physics teacher I've ever known it's just shitty and there's a huge gap on it as well as in all the other theories out there. He believes we'll never know what really happened.

My personal opinion is that even though I believe in God I don't think the world was made as the Bible said it was. As I was saying I got the chance to learn a bit on how to interpret the Bible and what its trying to say, but that's something that take years to learn and it's still very subjective. So I belive in God but I do believe in science and biology too and I like to think and believe the world was created on one of those weird and fantastic space phenomenos.

well, it is very interesting, but for me, creation is my belief, but that doesn't stop me from listening and understanding other theories.

ooh, but more importantly, did they finally invent a toilet that will wipe your ass for you? i love the inventions pages... or is that popular mechanics?

anyways, did they say anything else aboot the skull? like whether or not it showed the stages of evolution?

what if they clone it?

Damnit, compared to that my 5000 year old neighbour doesn't seem old. (Seriously though, there is this 5000 year old frozen guy in the building next to me. )
Now even more seriously, I find that really cool. 7 million years. Damn.

LMAO -- No that's pop sci alright -- and no ass-wiping toilet yet, unfortunately.

I'm going to try to look up the article and post the whole thing. I left my magazine in my car, which is currently three blocks away, and seeing as how it is ten degrees outside, I'm not walkin' my ass out there for that again. But it was a cool article.
