A suggestion - Eternal Allegiance

This is a little something that I'd like to address since it has gotten minorly widespread, though I have no legitimate way of enforcing it. (And yes, I know that I should be thankful [and am] that I don't have to deal with people doing worse things than this.

)

I am all for the threads that are requests for PM boxes to be cleared. However, after the person sees this thread and does it, too often these threads turn into private messaging sessions turned public.

Either that or a thread is created and is directed to one person and one person only, which is also more like private messaging session turned public.

So I can only ASK that after a person has seen and/or responded to your PM box clear request that you TRY to keep the PMing sessions that may result in that thread private somehow. And that something that could go into a PM box does (like a new thread directed at only one member).

You don't even need to invest in a IM program or email account...PMs can handle it, just a matter of typing it in the other text box.

I don't think it is too hard. At least I hope not.

When I say "PMing sessions" and stuff like that, I mean shit that is really only between two members...eh, you know, private stuff (when it is obviously private, I'm not trying to get into technicalities).

I am NOT talking about when you go back and forth with someone a public-aimed thread, whether on topic or not.

Not trying to spoil your fun, it's just some advice. I have no way of enforcing it. Eh. Thanks for reading. I have NO idea how this will go over with y'all... :: ducks for cover ::

I understand that and i think its a really good suggestiona nd i would appreciate it if everybody would say....yes, we will try that
i also think that such discussion that are only between two ppl shouldnt be in public threads...good idea...i hope everybody accepts it

Well, if they are going back and forth in a thread then it is fine. I think an example of that is in the "ghosts" thread. I'm talking about when it is obviously private shit between two people.

may I copy this for the Sewer?

and what I also think should be done away with is threads leading to 3 or 4 people responding to it, thus turning it into something that can be done on AIM, and when another member sees it they have no clue to what's going on

good example...such things shouldnt happen...thats why wehave the Pm system and thats why nearly everybody ahs MSN or AIM or whatever

Ehhhhhh. I'm not sure about that. I think the "ghosts" thread is just fine. Maybe it will be addressed sometime else by somebody else, but I don't see it as a problem. I'm more concerned with the obvious instances where all you'd need to do is type it in a PM box and not a New Thread box.

I suppose in a perfect world this could happen, but we don't live in that world. Going off-topic will always happen...if something like that happens in a GD thread for two consecutive pages (and they're sorta goofing off in there) I move it to the Sewer, which obviously doesn't help you.

Heh. I'm not sure, we'll see if something is done about that, but I don't think something should be done when it isn't negative or a personal problem, etc. Eh. Just my opinion from my viewpoint.

I guess i understand ur trying to keep it clean, but personally.. I think it's too much, let ppl have fun.. once they've seen it u can delete it if u want.. but no need 2 be so strict.. of course it's just my opinion, and on these forums i am no1... So i really have no say in any of this..

Just one problem with what u said, normally mods shouldnt have to elete every second thread or edit every post cuz of the topic its about, lets just stay it a clean bord without too many interruptions of any mods
