My parents have this wooden house for coletits to make a nest in. And the birds use it each year. Now at one time, one of the little baby birdies somehow managed to fall out of the box, and ended up on the ground. We spotted it, because one of our dogs was actually PLAYING with it. It gently put it's paw on it and stuff, and the birdie actually LIKED it. It was so fun. We taped it on video camera too. When they were done, I decided to put the birdie back in it's nest by opening the roof of the box.
A next day, I remember it so well. I came back from getting my highschool diploma, and walked by the little bird house to put my bike away. And that same little birdie had once again managed to get out of the nest. But it seemed that it had been there for a while, cause it was tipped over. So I touched it, but it didn't move.
So yeah, we went to bury it in our garden near a tree. We discovered that the birdie had gotten out, because the rest of the nest was all dead. It wanted to fly away, but apparently it didn't know how to do that yet.
The year after, the little bird house wasn't used. The year that followed, it was and everything went well. There have been no such problems ever since. But I'll never forget that one time.
