Well, as you may have noticed due to the announcement and the cleansing in Forum Support, we have undergone nothing short of a revolution here.
Personally I am more comfortable with the abolition of over half of the rules, as it fits my Libertarianish leanings.
However, I do feel that there are a few things I just wanna make clear about how Errick and I will work now since we are largely on our own in regards of how to moderate General Discussion. I do not feel comfortable at all going on without having y'all aware of how it will be now.
Of course, the three rules in Forum Support still apply here.
The philosophy behind this notice is that: "That government is best which governs least." Or, since the
majority of you all aren't idiots, there
should be little need for moderation in the first place.
Sort of like "hands-off" government. So, here are how Errick and I will approach it now, meaning that anything goes here that isn't too extreme.
- You can post whatever the hell you want. Any opinion can be expressed. Of course, no spam or porn or anything utterly repulsing. It of course needs to be intelligent, logical, and thought-out.
There is a difference between arguments and debates, and fights. Fights consist of:
Joe: "fuck you asshole"
Sally: "eat a dick you shitless motherfucker"
Joe: "no you slut, go to hell" etc.
...
With fights, we'll warn both parties in thread to cool it and make it logical again, and if it they continue we'll just delete their replies in the thread. If the fighting spreads to more than two parties (that is, most of the thread becomes consumed with this crap), the thread will be closed.
- We'll merge threads that are identical, with the "Official:" in front.
- We'll still move stuff, so if you didn't cause shit or wasn't malicious with your thread and you don't see it anymore, check the other forums before you call us fascists.
- I guess we'll start enforcing the "DUH" instances regarding Private Messaging. You can see the former sticky about it here: http://www.britneyforums.com/forums/...threadid=29601
To sum it up:- Requests to clear PM boxes are perfectly fine. Once it is seen that the person clears their PM box and the two people start communicating, the thread will be deleted since it had a temporary use anyway.
- Threads aimed at one member about one member's stuff that seems to be between two people only should just be kept in PMs. These are the "DUH" things I'm talking about...when it is clear and obvious it is only between two people. It's a simple matter of typing it in the New Message box.
- Again, I am NOT talking about when you go back and forth with someone a public-aimed thread, whether on topic or not. And I am not getting into technicalities about this. Just the obvious instances.
I don't think these are strict. If you do, I'm sorry. This won't please everyone. They aren't rules either...you don't have to follow these. I'm just alerting you as to how we'll be doing our jobs. I'm not trying to defeat the purpose of the "revolution". Eh. Just wanted to let people know how things will be run now that we are in the post-rules era.
Thank you for reading.
