I think its ok to have public smoking in some bars and restaurants if there privately owned. But if there is a smoking section, there should be a non-smoking section thats completely smoke-free. I've smoked a few times and its absolutely disgusting so If I want to go out to eat, I should be able to be completely seperate from smoking just like people who want to smoke, they should be able to.

Maybe thats why it SHOULD be banned in bars and clubs? When I've been to a party I always come home and smell like I've smoked 100 cigarettes or something, and like I don't think it is right to be "forced" to smoke, passively, I think it should be banned there just as well.

People can smoke if they want to, just not in my face. I know most smokers don't .. but many do and its is disrespectful and annyoing. I don't force you to drink alkohol, or spike your drink when you aren't looking, then why should I be forced to "smoke"?

Just my opinion, though.

Smoking in Public Places - Your opinion?

In the UK there is dicussion by the government about passing legislation that will ban smoking in all (or nearly all) public places.

As part of a university assignment I am conducting a survery for which I need 30 respondents. I would be EXTREMLY grateful if you could answer the following questions, and prehaps this will spark some kind of debate amongst the members of the board.

shouldn't this say 'smoking should be allowed in places serving food' not, 'smoking is allowed etc'? hmm.
