I don't see any reason to get rid of it. It's fun for a lot of people. I can understand those who are annoyed by dipshit posts. But I'd let the mods deal with those posts. So more or less what I'm saying is that I wouldn't remove the postcount, but I would remove the dipshit posts instead.

This issue will be addressed this weekend, as I have found a method to probably completely stop most dipshitting threads altogether.

Basically, it's gonna work like this.

We tell you to stop posting "LOL" "Cool" "thx for posting kbye." "haha" "

" "thx" or any variation of doing such, because let's be honest.. this is a discussion forum, and most people are here to discuss things, not filter through posts that have no productive meaning to them.

Should you not stop doing things like the above, we'll have the ability to do the following:

1. Turn your individual post count off to where no post you make anywhere counts for each individual user that continually goes into a dipshit-frenzy.

2. Completely remove the entire thing, which is a more extreme thing to do, but will be done should the number be abused and used as a "race" or "competition" .. bullshitting your way to 1000 posts is not really gonna cut it any longer. If we completely remove the post count feature, we will impose a time limit of say.. 2 months being a member, before you are allowed to have one. We don't want to do this, as it is a shame to those that respect it.

3. Just start suspending people left and right, which is unfair to you all because you make friends here, and to have them disappear under your nose isn't a fun thing to see.

As I have said, I'll address it more this weekend.. but the more it is abused, the more we may just see fit to take advantage of any of the three options, particularly number 1.

Wow!! That's some heavy stuff!!! We never had too much of a problem at the Ion boards with post counts. I think that we should keep them. Post counnts are what gets us stuff, like the titles under our names, avatars, and so on. Without them, we would never get all the good stuff.

Well.. what I mentioned above is really worst-case scenario type thing, where we'll only pull out those stops if we absolutely have to.

It would probably take a real moron to break the rules enough for this to occur. I hope no one like that exists..
