| You don't get mutiple choice, well not in the one I did. There are questions that ask you to describe what happened in a passage in the bible, what YOU think about it.
You are marked not on your actually answer but how it is written and if you can use the material provided.
They don't ask you, What does this mean? |

| Congrats on your good result Hayley.
At my school we had RE as a optional subject in the 'Humanities' section .... I chose to do Geography though cause I find it far more interesting than RE Quote: Originally posted by bex What's a GCSE...? | It actually stands for: General Certificate of Secondary Education .... it's the courses we have over here between the ages of 14 and 16, or the 10th and 11th years at school. |

| You forgot to add that if you do A levels after then GCSE's don't mean a thing. We were told that on the first day back after taking them when we were just about to start A Levels. It really made us feel happy. |

There are many possible interpretations of it. To only have a few down with one of those as the "right answer" would not be fair, since there would be many possible interpretations. A question such as "What was the majority opinion of <fill in the blank religious section> between the years of <fill in the years> on <insert passage of scripture from some religious book>?" and then having multiple choice would be okay as there would only be one answer.....whether you agreed with that particular religious section or not.
A question such as "What does this passage of scripture mean?" and having multiple choices would NOT be a fair question due to multiple correct interpretations. | thats the point with these religious exams... they want to coax you into their answers... in my school paper there's always ads for: "COLLEGE EXAM COMPETITION! WIN UP TO $10,000!" and then in the fine print, you see: "exam based on <insert religious scripture here>"
i cant respect a religion that uses tricks and gimmicks to spread itself... preying on povershed starving students to get your "religion" out... |

I think that is how it went it was year ago now so my mind may have gone. |
