APPLE CIDER PORK STEW

Slow cooker pork stew recipe made with apple cider and apple and carrots, potatoes, and onions.

INGREDIENTS:

2 pounds boneless trimmed pork shoulder, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
3 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon pepper
6 carrots, cut into 1/2-inch slices
4 medium potatoes, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
1 cup chopped onion
1 large apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
2 cups apple cider
1 tablespoon vinegar
1/2 cup cold water
1/4 cup flour
PREPARATION:

Combine 3 tablespoons flour, salt, thyme and pepper; toss with meat. Put carrots, potatoes, onion and apple in slow cooker. Top with the pork cubes. Combine apple cider and vinegar; pour over meat. Cover and cook on LOW for 9 to 11 hours. Turn slow cooker to HIGH.

Blend 1/4 cup flour and 1/2 cup cold water, stirring until smooth. Stir into hot liquid in slow cooker. Cover and cook 15 minutes longer, or until thickened. Taste and adjust seasonings. Serves 8.

Yay! altho... I dont think I can totally use it after all since some people work with grams and others work with inches.

Well, when they say inches in that recipe, I don't think it's too specific, lol. I think it just means small cubes. When I made it, I certainly didn't follow any sizes.

Ahh ok.. but its just like the Dutch recepes are more with 300gram of this or 150ml of that. We dont use cups or inches or whatever.. we work with numbers. Cuz cups can be a tea cup or a small cup or a big cup you know.. its confusing!

Actually, "cups" and "spoons" are measurements.

1 Cup = 255 mL
1 tsp (Teaspoon) = 5 mL
1 tbsp (Tablespoon) = 15 mL

And for all intents and purposes of measuring, 4 cups is basically 1 litre.

Ours is called the metric system. And you're in luck, I believe in Canada they use that too. So why oh why Swany do you post it in INCHES!
