Please, can someone help me. Im trying to get access to this:

alt.binaries.multimedia.buffy-v-slayer

And other Newsgroups Usenet things or whatever and i dont know WHAT THE HELL IM DOING! Can anybody help me PLEASE and explain to me:
1) What the hell these things are
2) How do I get access
3) Is there anywhere to get FREE access
