I think itS' very good that you can do that today. I mean, nobody can excert influence on how beautiful or not he or she is, and everybody should have the right to be beautiful if he or she puts emphasis on it, shouldn't they.
Well I'M not an emergency or something but I defiinitly want to have a few things done.
First of all I want a nose, which is very harmonic, like my little brother's one. I mean, like Britney's nose, no inregularities
Beside I think that large eyes are very beautiful, like my little brother has (he is so lucky) , so I want them to be enlarged somehow.
And I want new teeth, 100% white and very geometrical.
That's is. But I don'T know how to finance it. BUt I think I' ll ask a financial institute for the money as soon as possible.
I'm also saving money for it.
Ist there something you want to be done or have you already done it and how would or did you pay it? | Sorry that you feel you have to change yourself. In my psychology classes at college, i read that having a complex about your physical self image is not far attached from a slight personality disorder or mental health problem (which one in five of us have apparantly). Before you consider ANY form of surgery, i urge you to think about why you want this surgery: will it really change the way you feel about yourself? Maybe if you work on making your inner self happy, you won't feel like you need all this stuff done anymore! |

| I used to be extremely anti-plastic surgery. I didn't understand at first, why a person would go through with it. Like many of you have said, why can't you just be happy w/ yourself?
But then I realized, we all have "temporary plastic surgery everyday"...when we comb our hair, brush our teeth, get braces, contacts, put on makeup, etc. You're changing your apperance (even if some are required to just be sanitary, lol)...
Now, I don't wear make-up...ever. I don't understand how people can and maybe when I'm older I might, but right now, why bother? But...that's a mask. It enhances the beautiful points of your face. It is like plastic surgery.
As much as I agree with you guys about beauty being on the inside, many people (and I emphasize many not all) don't think that. They only see what's on the outside at first, before they even give you a chance to show who you are. But, not being a beauty queen myself (far from it, actually), I know how it is being not even close to what the ideal is (American at least). People treat you differently. The opposite sex treats you differently. It's unfortunate and unfair, but that's the way the world does work at times.
So, would I have plastic surgery? As much as I dislike certain features of my own, I would never do it. That's not my style. However, I would support it if one of my friend's did or anybody for that matter. You do what you need to do in this life to be at peace with yourself, and if that means you need to have an acceptable image, than do it.
Just remember, we all lose our charms in the end. :smirk: And that the people who are truly the most radiant and beautiful (Ghandi, for example) prove that it has nothing to do with the outside. Not that Ghandi isn't sexy. :-p

| You know what I think causes this all? The Media.
In my opinion I think the whole image the magazines and TV gives us of people, the image of how "ideal" people should look, is so fucked up, I'd like to throw up. It's so damn fake, and causes so many girls and women to just look at themselves in this horrible and completely wrong way. It's so unhealthy. And I seriously do not understand why they can't just show NORMAL people, of NORMAL sizes and with just your every day NORMAL look. Why they have to style them in such a way to make them look flawless, why they have to make them starve or whatever I seriously do not know. Screwed up, really, if you ask me.
Girls then get this idea that they are not pretty enough with their God given looks, and that they then have to changing themselves to be prettier. That's just so not true. I just feel that if they would see more normal people, every time they look at the cover of a magazine or something, they'd be like "hey, I'm just as pretty as her"..and wouldn't feel the need to change themselves. But since that’s not going to happen anytime soon, there will always be people who want to go get plastic surgery to look just as ‘ideal’ as the people on TV, and you know what? Who can blame them? Don’t those people on TV just have THE life? Don’t they just have it made? Ugh. I just think it’s so wrong. |

And i would never get any plastic surgery. I was made this way, and i will stay this way. I don't need anything to make myself look better. | Yeah...Your points are definitely valid. I think that you can't TRULY be beautiful on the outside (Because okay yeah, people CAN be beautiful on the outside, lol...I mean, you can see someone and go "wow, they're pretty/cute/etc") if you aren't beautiful on the inside first. Do you know what I mean? It's what you think too...Yeah, I agree with that. And I also agree that this is the way I was made. No use messin' with it. |

| Dids, yeah...I think the media has partial credit for doing this, but on the other hand, our daily life does. The only reason I don't feel content w/ my outer appearance (sometimes) is when I realize that you'll see an unattractive man with a drop-dead gorgeous woman, but you'll rarely see a drop-dead gorgeous man with an unattractive woman.
And the whole superficiality of it all makes me sick, but that is how things are now... |

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...and when I realize that (although I should realize it permanently, lol) my whole perspective on the issue changes. |
