Ok, the sun will not turn into a red giant for another 5 billion years, and our galaxy is currently in a collision with something (not a another galaxy, but I can't remember what), but it takes so long for these things to happen, that it will not even affect you. AND there is probably a massive black hole at the center of our (and most) galaxies.

The potential ends to a star is an explosion, pulsar, or black hole, so we have some options.

OMG...I know they probably don't want to scare us anymore since terrosism and the war.

i found out about it 2 days after it happened! talk about getting late mail! i could have been dead and not even know it!!! we have so many things that can end the earth at any momment... meteor, asteroid, even our own sun! in about i think 15 billion years from now the sun will become a super nova or sumthing like that and grow 300 times its size! or its possible that our galexy could colide with another one (the one nearest 2 us) and turn everything up side down creating a huge black hole which will suck us in! thats all very possible, i saw it on the discovery channel.

Geez, for a second there I thought my friend was back.. *sigh*

That's two asteroid nearly hitting earth. The one yesterday was as big as a football field. It can't do any damage. Just as John stated, it burns and falls apart after hitting the atmosphere.

Just watch the Simpsons. lol
