I'm not quite sure about this but I heard that it wasn't that good (it doesn't have as many options as the old one). Is that right?.

The latest version features AIM Expressions, which allows you to send your expressions to friends and family when you initiate a conversation. It also includes special content panels and a typing indicator so you can see when someone's responding to your messages
