Adeel complains about naked women feeling "liberated" but he sure does love them naked men. It works both ways, Adeel.

I think I might know the religion you're talking about. Secondly, when women do cover themselves up, it's because it's their own choice. Secondly, the man has no right to make the woman wear whatever he wants her to wear. She chooses her own clothing because that's her right. So it has nothing to do with the husband, or the man controlling the woman. The reason women cover themselves (men have to cover themselves too, you probably just don't know that), is to hide their beauty and distinguish themselves as Muslims. Similarly, Muslim men must cover themselves and keep beards (as opposed to the Hijab) because it hides their complection and beauty. In both ways, they hide their beauty, remain loyal to themselves, don't dwell on thier desires, stay close to their faith and distinguish themselves as Muslims. Neither the man or woman is forced to do anything, because if they're not doing it for the right reasons, then they shouldn't be doing it at all. So, if the women do choose to cover themselves, it's because it's their own will and choice too. Also, the Qur'an says:

“Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth has been made clear from error. Whoever rejects false worship and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that never breaks. And Allah hears and knows all things.” [Sūrah al-Baqarah: 256]

I do not like it because I think it's selling the body. Some man DO see woman as objects and I do not want to be seen as 'that woman with this or that type of body' I want to been seen as a whole, not only the outside. And I've been in situations guys didn't even care about me personally and as soon as I notice that, I point them the door. And if some women do wanna be seen that way, or do not care, then that's ok with me. Im just not like that.
Yup, I agree with that. That's also the reasons Muslims do choose to cover themselves.

If a woman wants to take off her clothes to feel liberated, sexy, or whatever it may be, let her. We don't have to watch. It may be against you're religion, so if it is, don't watch. It's not really personally affecting you so why it's such a problem is beyond me. Let the women do what they want. They've been fighting for years for equal opportunities and if this makes them feel closer to that, why try to interfere?

And I agree with Lea, why only women, Adeel? I believe there was a time where you were "gay" and attempted to share gay porn with me? What's the explanation behind that? I'm not trying to make a personal attack here, I just don't understand how a) such change came over night and b) why your views only apply to women. It's a bit sketchy.

I never said it only deals with females. It's applicable to both genders but you usually don't see many men wearing skin tight clothing. But, I do understand that some men do. So, I never said it's only aimed at women. It's aimed at both genders. But, as a male, I am talking about females. So, as a female, if you want to talk about males, go ahead. I have nothing against that.

I didn't make this thread for religious purposes. I'm not sitting here and talking about Islam and relating everything to Islam. The only reason my last post had to deal with Islam was because ElectricStorm brought it up, so I talked about it.

I never said that we should try and stop these people from dressing like how they are, I just don't get why people dress like that. It doesn't make sense to me because it makes them look more submissive. Also, with the thing for "fighting for equal opportunities", this is why i'm talking about this subject. Why does it make them feel equal? Why does showing more skin equal more freedom? I'm not trying to interfere, i'm trying to understand.

Lastly, it's not only about women. It's applicable to both genders. Being a male, i'm talking about females. If Lea or you wants to talk about men relating to the subject, then go ahead, i'm not going to stop you, nor did I ever say this was applicable for women only.

I don't believe ALL women who dress up like that, do that because it's their own choice. Women where being told what to do for a very long time in history. The western world became much more open with women and let them have a job, rights to vote ect ect. I can't imagen that all the muslimcountries are so open with women. There is still that 'men are more important thing'. If you are born and raised like that, then maybe you see it as your choice, but you don't have an open view to it. I know lots of girls who are originally from that region. Some cover themselves, some don't. A girl who doesn't once said to me that her parents forced her to cover herself and all, but she decided to speak up and said no. She wanted to be who she wanted to be. Before that, she would cover herself, then when she was at school, she took it away. In the end, she just stepped up and made things clear.

But I do believe some women really want it. But this is not only with the muslimcommunity. People who go to church also have some rules who are not lived by ALL people who go there. Like only wearing skirts and not wearing any make-up, having lots of childeren, no tv or radio and so on. It's just a small part and maybe that's also with the muslimcommunity. But this is more about rules in religion than women who dress up to naked

Sometimes from my own experience, I have seen how controlling some men in the Western World can be. I guess its their choice if they wish to cover up. But I guess in the warm weather, I feel sorry for them that they have so much clothing on and the heat must get to them.

I don't believe that all Muslim women cover themselves by their own choice...one of my dad's friends used to live in Sadia Arabia and his wife had to keep her head covered even though she was a WHITE AMERICAN who was Christian not Muslim just so that she wouldn't be attacked by people when she went off base ....which is stupid. I have heard that if you visit over there you have to wear long skirts and shirts so that noone attempts to harass you. At that point it isn't really a choice, you're being forced into a way of dressing you don't neciessarily agree with to avoid persecution.

Some countries you visit, you just have to completely forget about everything you've been taught here in the western culture. You're expected to adapt to their way of life if you want to walk around on their soil, otherwise it is considered intrusive and rude.
