What comes, comes. There, like many people have already said, is always the states. Rock on, buddy boy. You deserve the best and in this case it is that you don't deserve to go into the military and have to do that kind of job. It should be the dorkwads who want to be "heroes" and the volunteered men and women of the world, instead of the drafted. IMO, anyway...

Soren, you rock, if you have to go - tell me in advance so I can run the GD a little heavier.

Your spot will be waiting for you when you get back, IF you have to go.

Fortunately, I've still got more than a year left of my education,
so IF I'll have to do the military service, it won't be until after
that year's time... the education has first priority... they can't
take me out of it just 'so they can have their fun'. And I'd also
most likely be able to go home in the weekends, so I wouldn't
disappear completely from here - fortunately

If you really dont want to go, what you should do is consider purchasing a two-way ticket to the USA and go on a little vacation before you have to do your duties. That way you have a bit of freedom before you are doomed. And besides, who says while on vacation your ticket back to denmark wont accidentally get dropped into the grand canyon?!?!

Damn! I think it's mean that countries should have to tell everyone to do military service, it should be your choise.

Well... after my current education's done with, I'll have around
two month's of vacation until 2/2-2004, which is the date I'll
have to make myself available for the military... and after that
date and 10 months forward, I dunno when I'll be around...
some weekends I'll be able to go home I know... others... I
dunno... but fortunately...

...there's still more than a year to go...
