Default Movies adapted from great books

Is it me or is it all too often that the movie just does not measure up to the book at all? I mean there are some exceptions, Fight Club bein one. Great movie, but still even more amazing book. I guess there's only so much someone could do to bring Palahniuk to true life. what are some others?

Ghost World I feel was really well done. The actors really got into the characters Clowes created and kept them true to the comics. I just saw that Memory Keepers Daughter is being made into a film. I've yet to read that book but I know the story. Wonder how that'll translate to film.

Memory Keeper's Daughter could be good, when does that come out? Ghost World is definitely the better of Clowes' work to make it to film. Art School Confidential was just alright.

Clockwork Orange is my favorite book to film. Some of the classics are good too: jane Eyre, Scarlet Letter, etc.

Memory keepers Daughter is a lifetime movie. THis sunday at 9pm if you wanted to catch it.
