Default memory card question

my PC has 64mb of ram, and is able to handle up to 256mb, can I replace my 64mb with a 256mb card


or do I need 2 128mb cards

you should be able to use a 256.. if that's what your pc can handle then yeah.

I'd say you can just go ahead and pop in a 256mb.

But to be sure... it'd probably be wiser to take a look in the motherboard manual (try to find something about specifications in there, and look for memory sockets or something like that) or something first... to be completely sure.

How old is the motherboard?

I'm gonna go with the 2 128s, cost a few bucks more, but it's the safe way to go

i don't think the make really matters as long as it's before 95.

we have computers that we constantly "update" parts in from 98+ and have never had a problem with a new part in it.
