Though, it may be a simple question, it's probably the most intellegent question one could ever ask.
If that's true, then I suppose all 5 year olds must be freaking geniuses!!!!

Let me guess, your first reaction to the question was "because," wasn't it? I'd imagine you're smart enough to know what I meant by it.

And wouldn't it have pissed you off if you spent 2 hours writing an essay about 'why?' and failed it, only to find out you could've written two simple words on a peice of paper, and passed with flying colours?

Good job girls!

Actually, my first reaction was "Your mind asks "why" because you do not currently possess the knowledge to answer your question. Had you the knowledge, you would not have the question. Asking me "why" presumes that I do possess this knowledge of which you seek. This may be a false presumption. The present is because of the past. The past is because of the past before that, and so on. "Why" implies reason behind motives and processes either of nature or of the mind. The nature of that reason is the knowledge which one seeks when that individual asks the question of "why". Essentially, all is because something else was before.", but you'd probably know that had you read your own thread
