Hehe... well, as far as I've understood the concept of the Par-
ticipation Level system - the higher number you've got, the
better placement you'll get in queues as well as bandwidth.
Works well in making more people share files, 'cause if they
don't share and upload files to other users, the Participation
Level won't get higher - only lower and lower as the user
leech from other users... but of course, there's a couple of
hacks and cheats out for raising the Participation Level... he
he... and they work splendid

As for using the v1 client of KaZaA, I don't think you'll expe-
rience any problems... but I guess only time will tell
