Call me stupid, but what does 'BBS' mean? I've heard it at MandyMoore.com before, but never really knew...

It's what we called a forum back in 1996. Then the UBB (Ultimate Bulletin Board) type forums came about with graphics and colors and multiple forums. When UBB got competition from vBulletin (that's us! ), we generally started to call these types message boards.
