Laughing I need help from all my awesome bsn buddies-WHO READ "THE SCARLET LETTER?"

I need help filling out a study guide so i can study. I haven't read the book since september. and we are having the final now.I don't even have a copy of the book. I will type the study guide in my next post.

Characters: (who are the characters)
Protagonist- (main character)
antagonist-(chacter/situation that causes problems for main character)
Flat Character- (type of character that has only 1 or 2 traits revealed by the author)
Round Character- (a fully developed or 3-dimensional characterthat sees many sides of the main character)
Static Character- character does not change in the course of the story)
Dyanamic Character-( type of character that changes in the story because of actions or events which pass)
Stereotype character-(acharacter posssesssing expected traits of a group rather than individual)

Foil-(a character who is contrasting traits point up to those of central character)


Setting- Time and place
Physical setting- (this constists of the place and physical items that provide backround for the setting.)
Social setting-(relationships between the characters in the story. These relationships establish certain governing principles for what the character do say and think.)
cultural setting- or the characters that have an effected upon the protagonist.)
backdrop setting- (generalized or reletively unimportant setting)
integral setting-(essential and specific which influences character, plot and theme

Point of view-




first person (narration in which a persons experiences thoughts and feelings are told by themself: uses i we she)

thidr person( narrator outside the story; uses he she they ect.

third person limited- narrator tells only what one character precieves

third person omniscent- narrator can see into the minds of all characters

objective/dramatic- thir person narration in which all actions and speeches are recorded without interpretation

Plot secquence of actions or events involving the character in conflict

narrative order- oder in which the story is related

1.) chronilogical order

2.) flashbacks



Conflict: the conflict int he story occurs when the protagonist(central character) struggles against the antagonist( oposing cgaracter or idea) the conflict can be 2 oposing people ideas or beliefs which form the basis of the plot.

1.) person against self: internal conflict of feelings within the protagonist.
2.) person against person: clear conflict between the protagonist and antagonist
3.)
person to society: conflict between the protagonist and the antagonist elements of society
4.) person against nature: precise conflict between protagonist and each component of nature.

Yeesh, I'm not sure why I'm saying this, but I'm actually thankful for the essays we have to write instead of all of that.

Anyway, our class also read The Scarlet Letter, and it too was waaaaay at the beginning of the semester so I remember very little, definitely not in that depth. Try www.SparkNotes.com, that's what I used to study.

umm....ya, i just read it last semester. i could help u with those ?'s, but i take it u want them deleted or something. but sparknotes.com would probably be your best bet anyway.
