Their printers are really good. Both of mine lasted a long long time.

Their burners suck...I got one that burned two CDs and quit, then forced me to reformat since it screwed my CD ROM drivers up and rendered it useless. By then the warranty expired so we couldn't return it, and I took it out to the desert and shot it with a lever-action .357.

I think their PCs are ok. My friend got one recently, works fine.

i had a HP computer for well over 4 years. but i don't think they're worth investing in. their printers are excellent, we use them at work and i have one at home..

i'd go with a compaq or dell, even a gateway is better.

it's a shame that compaq and HP merged though..

I'd go for a Dell myself *dreams about them black casings again*
and I wouldn't go near a Compaq ... of course there's always
the lovely way of purchasing the spareparts you want (instead
of those the companies want you to have) and assembling the
computer yourself. Can be much cheaper - but then you might
not get services like online/phone/on-site support and fancy
stuff like that.

Personally, I like the 'assemble yourself' solution the most... .

lol because they both suck computer wise. although right now the new compaqs work pretty well, only thing is your only option is to send it in for repair because the cards are built right into the motherboard. *argh*

lol, that sucks! Those intergrated motherboards are just to save the company some cash instaed of buying seprate stuff and they usually dont work to the best!

Im thinking of assembling or "build" my own PC somtime next year when the new Nvidia video (NV 30 or NV35) card comes out and when the new Intel Pentium 4 (90nm design and at lease 3-4 GHZ) comes out... and a bunch of other stuff. I'll be ordering seperate parts and assemble from scratch, that way it will be cheaper and better than the ones the companies give you (like Compaq, Gateway and all the others). Only problem now is that I have to save lots of cash!
