And I have a question. Why is it like 5-10 years ago it was so much easier to hold the #1 spot? I see albums that are #1 on week 325 and today an artist can't even hold the #1 spot for more than a week! Why is that.

LMFAO no no when it comes to the chart rewinds those aren't the true weeks they'd been on the chart at that time. LOL. It's weeks to this DATE they've been out, I believe. But they're NOT that much back then lol.

I think it's the number of days it has spent on the chart...from its first appearance to its last...

...but I could be wrong...

Maybe more artists and more competition. Or people buy a lot when it first comes out and that leads to less later (think n sync first week sales frenzies)

I think that too, because there is no way that an album will stay #1 for like almost one year - that's not possible!!!
