Yeah I know what you're feeling. Finally somebody recognized what has been going on and he wasn't afraid to step up to the plate. He said exactly what he thought and with many things he was correct. Of course there also were things that he wasn't so delicate about, but he sure as hell was no Le Pen, like the media liked to label on him. They twisted his words and made him sound like a maniac, which in fact was totally off the scale. But people believed the media (like the dumbasses that they are always do) and what do ya get? Right.
I always stated that it's good that we can choose our own leaders, but the election is multiple-choice and the candidates are all alike. But Pim Fortuyn changed my statement when he arrived at the front lines. Finally some differences. What will happen to our democracy now? Pim stood for freedom of speech. They kill him. So did they kill freedom of speech now too? Will we ever dare to speak our mind again without the fear of being shot to death? Questions that keep arising. It's going to be a tough period the upcoming months.
You might know that I live in Rotterdam, one of the biggest cities with the most criminal activities of our country. I once was attacked by a group of I-dunno-what-kind-of-nationality in MY OWN STREET at 5 PM when I was out to get some food. I just walked there for crying out loud! I didn't do anything offensive in their direction. It sucks big time. I'm gonna move out soon. High up north where such is not as bad as it is in RotterDAMN.
I haven't watched the news all day yet, so I don't know if Pim's party is still going to continue. I hope they will, cause then we can still vote for them. Whether or not their spokesman is dead, they might still be able to continue his beliefs. | I totally agree with ya. I also live in Rotterdam and its just not fine living there. And the one of the most bad things is that (and that also happend here when America was attacked on September 11th) some moslim people where happy and smiled the whole time when they were interviewed for tv. And you could here the voice of the tvman get really mad because they said that. And also these moslimguys said that it was good for Fortuyn to be death and the interviewer said: if you not even care about somebodys life, what the hell (well he didn;t said it like that) are you doing here in this country?? Even if you dont like somebody, you dont have to kill him! and thats also with the september 11th attack... you might not like america, but to be happy for so many people who died. Thats just unbelieveble... i think your just a pshycho if you think that way!
And one thing that I want to say: if you live here, you know Fortuyn wanted to do something good for this town especially... I cant even walk to my school alone, because these moslimguys (yes, never a dutch guy) intimidate me and im just scared every morning to walk there and im always looking for somebody to walk with me... thats just not funny that you dont feel save in your own country because of people who came in your country because it was too bad for them to live in their own country... and I dont say its all of them, i would never say that. | |

| A lot of people say they're afraid for another dictator ... but damn I'm not ... I'm not afraid at all ... cause the world we're living right now, is so much worse ... this is not a world ruled by a dictator ... this is just ANARCHY ... and that's much worse ... this just means that you can't speak your own opinion or you get killed ... that's just the god damn ... FAR WEST ... shoot everyone who you can't stand ... |

| Normally I would say something like, 'somebody should do something about it', but yeah, that somebody has just been murdered...
However, I just heard on the news that we can still vote for Pim. It is possible to vote for a deceased spokesman. The pary won't choose a new spokesman, for nobody can replace this man. They advise us to just cast our vote the way we would've done it if Pim would not have been dead. So at least the campaign will continue. I guess we gotta hold on to that for the time being.
Liselotte, I am truly sorry to hear that. And such is even worse for you since you are a girl. Needless to say, girls are easier targets... I can only suggest to indeed never walk alone. Because how sad it is, when a girl like you walks alone, she is prey. May I ask in which part of Rotterdam you live? |

| I nearly live in Marocco or something ... with all the foreigners over here ... my city has 33,000 habitants and nearly 20% of them are from African nationality or from somewhere from the Middle East ...
Anywayz ... yes you can still vote for Pim ... all his votes will go to the fraction itself then and then they can choose someone who could step forward to take in the place, that Pim normally should have been taking ... wel that's what I think that will happen ... |

- hihlordjp | Well, not in the entire country. Just in certain cities. One's worse than the other. The metro-stations are really critical. There have been quite a number of teenage kids attacked there. Most were past 8 PM. You wouldn't want to be there at such a time, unless you have someone with you. |
