Meaning: Can you talk to him about just about anything? Do you like the same things he likes?

This goes out to see how many people actually do have a connection with their father. Whether your parents be divorced or your father's dead - Tell about if you did have a connection, when he was there.

Just a random topic, and I'd like for at least some of you to answer. You can write about just about anything pertaining to the fact of you having an actual connection with him/or did. This is supposed to be a feelgood thread, but if you want to write about how he's the biggest asshole on earth, you may do so also. Just write about the topic, please.

Well I don't feel like too much to talk about that, sorry.

The only thing I'll say is that we aren't the best friends, our connection is not very great ... let me just put it that way ... if my life would have been depending of him alone I wouldn't be posting here right now ... I actually wouldn't be sitting here and I actually wouldn't be breathing or living anymore right now ...

Sorry to bring up such a sensitive subject, but I wanted to see if people actually have a connection. I don't, as you probably could tell. We talk every now and then, he's a good dad and all but I wish for something more. Do you know what I mean?

My dad and i have never really been that close --- but we did end up getting closer after he moved out.

Now i'm really the only one who talks to my dad...my sister and my mom don't...it's really sad.

The only connection I have, is that he is my father. I never talk to him because anytime I do, the only thing that comes out of my mouth is hateful bullshit to go against anything I want to do. So I gave him the finger and moved to Florida

I have a great job, and am lucky enough to be able to put myself through school, and be able to buy things and waist money on art and cars. Anyways but back to the real topic, no.

I must be the only one with a great relationship with my dad.

I can talk to my dad about anything and we enjoy alot of the same things together. If i need help, i know he will always be there for me. He doesn't yell or anything like that. My dad is the perfect dad.

I like my dad too. His friends are assholes to him so he knows I'm always here for him. But I don't get to see him alot because he is in the military, right now he's in Pakistan until May. Last year her went to Connecticut for half a year then the year before that he was in Texas for half a year, then the year before that he was in Korea for a year. I can't wait till he comes back. He's pretty cool.
