Gonna be completely honest here....
Ever since Freshman year I've hung out with the 'cool' juniors and seniors, not because they were considered cool but because we just clicked. I've always been friends with older people and the first three years of high school I was friends with the jocks/preps/whatever you wanna call 'em...because those are the people I clicked with. I'm not stuck up and I don't say 'I'm popular because I'm friends with so-and-so' and I try not to be rude to people just because they don't have the same friends i do. Or at least I hope I wasn't like that.
But this being my senior year, my priorities have totally changed, a lot of my friends nowadays are out of high school and I mean...popularity just isn't important to me, yeah it's still gonna be fun to go to the parties and hang out with the people but I'm not gonna really CARE that much about it, because who is gonna give a fuck who you were friends with once you're out of school?
Popularity is overrated. And given a bad name. I think being popular is being liked by lots of people and being friends with everyone --- but a lot of people think of it as being a prep and being stuck up and yada yada yada. That's not what it is at all, and when you are one of those people, trust me it's not all it's cracked up to be.
