I mean why do you guys think they made that rule that you have to do it in the first weeks? I mean if it is a person they are killing.. then it doesn´t really matter if they do it in the first week or 8 months later! |
This is quoted from the abortion discussion in the Sewer.
Just because the brain "doesn't work," doesn't make it right to take the life from the fetus. Would it be right to take the life from a mentally retarded person? Such a person's brain doesn't correctly function. So what's the difference?
Who are "they?" What is the rule? Where is the rule? Show it to us.
About rape: I don't know what to say about that. I imagine aborting the fetus is fine if it is done very quickly. I learned in Christian Morality class this year that an exception is made for abortion in the case of rape as long as the mother takes care of it within 24 hours. I don't know that that's enough time to get the procedure scheduled, set up and completed. But that's what I was told.
If the mother's life would be in danger as the result of the baby's birth, then of course it should be OK to have the abortion. But that is just one of two exceptions, along with rape cases.
Momma: I apologize for a post you may have read in the Sewer. It probably appeared as if I was placing the blame and responsibility on the shoulders of the woman only. And that wasn't my intention. I also understand it takes two to create a child. The male also holds responsibility. The thoughts and feelings of both the man and the woman should be taken into account.
But I will always feel that it is wrong to have an abortion, except, of course, in those two special situations.
