If the "mother" was raped it wasn't her fault...she is a victim. we should not increase her fears. I'm sure that she wants to forget the tragedy that has happened. We shouldn't say that she is a bad person because she was raped and now pregnant. It isn't her fault but she should have a choice.
BUT if a bitch just wants to have unprotected sex just for the fun of it and then gets pregnant, well that is certainly WRONG to have an abortion. It seems that she wants to get pregnant and why should an innocent baby suffer because she wants to play russian roulette.
Also if you are married, I think if u don't hav the finance or if your husband is having affairs all the time, well it's your right to have an abortion, coz u don't want to bring a baby in the world knowing that it would only bring more sadness. The mother could kill the baby if she's so depressed.
People often argue about "..but u can get your baby adopted.." well it's not that easy, u kinda get attach to it and when u are pregnant u'll always think that "...I don't want this baby..." and it scars the child...(trust me I have friends that a adopted). Even if it doesn't cause the child any harm, the mother will be scared for life, psychologically or physically.
I think that it's the mother's choice...she should choose wisely rather than think of herself as in "...if I hav this baby I won't be a size6 anymore.." that is just plain selfish!!! | *joins church choir and sings praise of "Amen".* |

actually i don't get pissed off easily. but seeing the same shit brought up by this pile over and over tends to wear at my nerves. i can only sit back and not say anything for so long. even now i'm not coming out and saying what i want, in part because i don't have the time.
so maybe if this kid would get his head out of his ass there wouldn't be such a problem. |

| my opinion:
the problem with abortion is that people abuse it. people who choose to screw around choose to take the risk, and unfortunately, many decide to deal with the consequences later on instead of taking preventive measures to begin with. mature adults who unexpectedly find themselves expecting a baby are better equipped to deal with a pregnancy, and the more mature the parents are, the more likely they will keep it. for those who CAN keep the baby but choose not to, abortion is a sign of weakness. it is unfortunate that many people regard it as a form of birth control, a way to fix their mistakes.
i know nothing about abortion rates in other countries, but i wouldn't be surprised if the rates in the US were higher than other places. on the whole, the US is a rather irresponsible country, and i know many people that choose to take the quick fix instead of shouldering the burden of their actions.
i do not like the concept of abortion. if one decides to take the risk of having sex, they better know what may lie ahead. and it makes me sad to think that the world may never see what an aborted child could have been.
i don't, however, think abortion should be outlawed. i am all for it in instances of rape, because the woman should have the right to rid herself of as much memory of the rape as she can. or perhaps the rape victim is too young to have a baby. if she didn't have the option to abort, she could run into some serious physical and psychological problems later in life.
the world is a big place, and it'll never be possible to prevent people from using it as birth control. but if a couple is totally unable to have a child--whether it be for financial reasons, or they simply cannot have a child at the time--i think they should be entitled to have the option open to them. for some of these people, having an abortion is just as tough a decision as deciding to keep the baby. an abortion has fewer long-term effects than a pregnancy (like babies...that's about as long-term as you can get), but the process itself is no picnic. does the concept of having your insides scraped out sound like fun to you?
i am less concerned with the life of the baby than i am with the decisions of the parents. i would rather see a couple put a child up for adoption than abort it, but if they choose to abort, it's not my business to make them feel guilty for "murdering" a fetus. the same thing happens with miscarriages...a pregnancy is terminated, and a baby never lives to see the world. both are unfortunate and tragic: miscarriages are the work of nature, and abortions are the work of human nature. and sometimes neither can be helped.
insisting that abortion is murder isn't going to make a difference to some people...they'll abort if they want to. but then some people want to classify it as murder for legal reasons, so they can make laws against abortion. i think abortion is too complicated a matter to be regulated by law. not only is it difficult to mark exactly when the fetus becomes enough like a person to be murderable (conception? 1 week? 3 weeks? 1 month? 2 months?), but if abortion is legally considered murder, does that make a 12-year-old rape victim a murderer if she has an abortion? there are too many gray areas.
bottom line: abortion is a privilege, not a right. it should not be abused, but should be available to those in certain circumstances. |

| oh, and one other thing: Quote: Originally posted by TigerClaw I guarantee that most of u would change ur minds if it came to it. I'll tell u what's happening with me,
I been with this girl Jane since like 3 years ago almost. Last year she was pregnant, not even condoms are 100% safe especially if u do it often with the same person. Luckely it was early enough for her to take pills so nothing more happened.
However, just last week she took me out of a lesson and told me she was 3 weeks pregnant. Too late for pills now, eventually we decided on abortion because there is no way we can take good care of a baby right now. have to finish education first, get a good job so then we can support a baby properly. So if anyone here ever gets in this position, u will change ur minds. It's easy for u to talk, but it;s not as easy when it comes down to it in reality.
Btw, i'm 15, Jane is also 15. | i think you are TOO YOUNG to know what you're doing. lucky for you, you can abort. but you SHOULDN'T HAVE TO. you're going to be 'too young' to have a child for quite a few more years, and if she gets pregnant a few more times between now and when you say you'll be able to support it, are you just going to abort it each time?
the reason sex between minors is considered rape is because they're trying to keep you from potentially screwing up your lives. and if you think that abortion will save you every time, then you shouldn't be having sex. |
