Computer question - Eternal Allegiance

I have mp3´s and jpg and gif files on my computer. Everything was fine, until a couple of days ago. Then I looked and then those files were all for Quicktime. The mp3´s are good now, but the pictures are still for Quicktime. So when I click on it, I get to see the pic in Quicktime!!!
This has never been. Does somebody know how I can change it back ??

There should be a preferences or options tab in quicktime, go in there and uncheck the box next to .jpg or whatever. If that doesn't work, go into Explorer and right click on a jpg and select properties. A dialog will come up and you will see something that says Opens with: program name and a button next to it that says Change. Click the Change button. Then just select the program you want it to open with. Click OK and then Apply.

Now that stupid Quicktime isn´t working and my mp3´s are also Quicktime again

I can get sooo damn angry about this!! I don´t know which dialog you mean with that inside Explorer. Where do I have to click on....Extra ?

I guess the mp3´s are now good again. When I click on 1, it plays in Winamp, but it has the pictogram of Quicktime

Really strange

But those damn jpg and gif files, I don´t know (seems I can´t) change it ?!

Sometimes it will keep the icon of the old prog is was associated with, but will open in another prog. I guess the only way to get the icons and jpgs back to normal is to uninstall Quicktime and when you reinstall it make sure that no files are associated with it except for .mov files. Never do the express install of anything, if in doubt of file associations, click No. I have had similar problems with RealPlayer.

Good luck solving your problem. You can always try going into Winamp and click the association thing in there and see if that helps.

ok right click on any jpg file u have while holding down the sift key on your keyboard ....click on open with

another window will open with a list of programs u can now open the jpg files with scroll down til u find internet explorer or whatever program u want to open them in. CLick on it

now check (tick) the box that says do u want this program to open these files allthe time or something similar

press ok ....should work if not srry

I uninstalled Quicktime and then install it over again. Everything works fine now again. Thanks Kat and Broccoli for the advice
