But is that what you were taught? | Yeah, pretty much. I usually shift back to first a second before the car has come to a complete stop. I'll ask around, see what other people here say about it. It leads to distraction, which leads to.. accidents! Quote: Originally posted by dids Tsk, tsk. Are you even allowed to talk on the phone while driving? That's minus 3 to 6 points here or something. Rightfully so. | If they catch you talking on the phone while driving here, you'll have to pay up. Then there is handsfree calling, which is also not recommended. It's not yet against the law, but they've almost finalized that, too. People aren't 100% alert, and BAM, someone dies. |

| Yeah, I'll ask around too.
I don't know if you also have to pay if they catch you talking on the phone, or if they just take off points. I'll get informed about that too. |

| Hehe, thaks for the words of wisdom, Stinger No but really...if I AM on the phone while driving, it's very quick calls, I hardly EVER have long conversations when in the car, unless I'm not the driver. |

| Hard to say. I have them both. Automatic is great when driving in city but manual seems to be slightly faster. Can't say which one is better. |

Rightfully so. | Here in New York state, it's against the law. You can get fined a good amount of money, plus get a ticket, if you get caught. Of course, the law is never enforced. Cops could care less about cell phones. It's really stupid. Why make a law if you're not going to enforce it? |

But I did some digging and it appears that my driving instructor from way back in the day had once again fed me with complete bullshit. But, what else is new heh. It's a shame that he's still active.
