lol -- congrats tommy, for developing this thread and ACTUALLY CATCHING people in the obvious viscious circle. its like watching a dog chase it's tail. haha!
LBFG -- i know you think that god made two of every animal to put on the ark -- but there is one part of your statement i'm goign to bother arguing with, and that is when you said "i know for a fact." unfortunately the bible is not fact. i'm not dissing religion at all -- i'm pretty religious myself. but...religion is not based on facts, its based on faith.
MY THEORY:
(yeah -- i'll play along. what the hell)
so one day there was this rock. it sat and sat and sat, but nothing happened to it. it was bored as...well...as a rock. so it shifted and shifted until finally it was able to shift itself over to a cliff to roll down. not suicidally, as you might think -- for this rock knew it's shit. it fell down the cliff to the ocean, where it layed on the beach for eons until the sand and the surf rubbed it smooth as....hmm....as what? this is what the rock asked itself. it finally concluded it would call itself an egg. over time the "egg" began to grow this gooey yellow discharge on its inside from the nasty seaweed gunk that kept accumulating on it. (you would too if you sad on the beach for eons without showering). ...and bla bla bla, as you all can probably figure out, one day a big motherfucking dog or bear or lion or some shit came and sat on that egg, warmed it up, and out popped an ugly ass chicken a little later.
THEORY #2
(real theory)
chickens, along with most birds, evolved from dinosaurs. notice the question was not "which came first, the pteridactyl or the egg," it was "which came first, the CHICKEN or the egg." so therefore i dont have to explain my theory to the former. all i can say is that technically, i think that a chicken came first, because the chicken had to evolve far enough from a dinosaur in order to actually be CALLED a chicken, so therefore anything that it laid before that could not necessarily be called a chicken egg. it could not be called a chicken egg until the chicken had, in fact, evolved into a chicken.
