Default Advanced Placement Program

I just took that nasty little English Language & Composition test this morning (hence my being at home at noon!), and that got me to thinking: Is anyone else experiencing the wonderful stress and tension of the AP program or its equivalent?

And good luck to all on the forum taking tests this or next week!

I hated the AP program in HS. I got out of it my first year...well I just had it for English. The work was fine and everything, I just couldn't stand the people. They were so stuck up and whatnot it was just annoying.

But yeah, the class/work/etc was stressful. But at least your test is over.

I just took it today too! What form did you have, if you remember? Maybe we had the same one. I think there were only two different types. Mine's was 4ABP-R. I think the other one was 4ABP-Q. I thought it was surprisingly easy. Except for the first passages in the essay and multiple choice. Well..you guys are lucky. We had to continue school for the rest of the three periods left.

Eee! I have no idea what form I had; I didn't look. But I found the test incredibly simple for what I was thinking it would be. I thought there would be all those stupid passages from the 1600s that I don't understand and then a bunch of mixed metaphors and stuff. I was relieved to say the least.

In my school, we traditionally get the day off after our tests since so very few people take them. There are only two major classes that are offered (calculus and American history, and I am in calc and done with AP American history), so I moved on to the independent studies. Much easier that way.

Now I have to get ready for calculus on Wednesday and European history on Friday.

Wow, I feel for you there. Yeah, I was surprised too! Do you remember the essay passages? Was your second question just like open-ended? Where you name a controversy, state both positions and end with a solution. My teacher said they havn't done that kind of thing in 20 years! My teacher didn't even prepare us one bit for that but I dont blame her, I mean, who would expect it to come back after 20 years. I just hated the multiple choice, HATED.

Yep! I was so surprised when I saw that essay... it was like "huh?" I can't complain though since that question was the first one I answered!

Have you taken the literature test? I'm taking the class and the test next year. I'm dense with poetry, so I guess I'll have a bunch of studying to do.

Hmm...I dont think we have just a literature class. I dont really know though. For that question, what did you use for the controversy issue? I used the war on Iraq, I shouldn't have done that because that's what alot of people are gonna write about. I only did it because I knew the perfect things to say. My teacher asked who wrote about that and no one raised their hand so I didn't raise mine. My freind in the class knew I wrote about that since I told him, and we just started laughing quietly because I didn't wanna feel like an idiot. I should've wrote about same-sex marriages now that I think about it. DARN! *snaps fingers*

I didn't even think of the war! I did think about same-sex marriage, but I didn't feel like writing a book or anything, so I picked cloning since I know something about the issue and what both sides are saying. I hope I did well on that essay!

I was half-way through the third question, and I reread the actual question and realized that I hadn't answered it. That was a tad... frightening. But I moved some words around so that I actually did answer the question... I hope!

My school doesn't have a lit class either - or really any AP classes other than calc and history - so I take them on the internet, which is really helpful. There was a grant this year for the classes, and I took one, but next year the grant runs out and I wanted to take something like five of them... I think I've got it worked out now.

I take the Lit test tomorrow. The class isnt that bad. I got a 5 on the mock exam so i expect to do pretty well on the real thing. I have micro, and macro economics next week.( I took the lang test last year - they only give out one form, otherwise it wouldnt be fair.)
