| That's why celebrities shouldn't BE role models. Real people, parents, family, teachers, mentors, THEY should be the real role models. They aren't perfect either but still. Celebrities fuck up no matter who they are. It's not up to them to live perfect lives...they should be responsible but they are also humans.

| On second thought, it's highly unlikely that he'd have a prescription without his doctor or pharmacist advising him not to operate a motorized vehicle while using the drugs. I'm not buying that one. |

| There is no excuse to drive drunk.
And that prescription thing? That wouldn't make him drunk. That might up the chances that the alcohol will affect him more, but it won't make him fail a breath test.
Any prescription that you shouldn't mix with liquor will say so on it, it's your responsiblity to read the pill bottle...
Why can't celebrities just SAY that they screwed up instead of blaming it on everything and anything? |

It's not up to them to live perfect lives...they should be responsible but they are also humans. | I somewhat agree with what you're saying here, Mandy. However...even if someone doesn't want to be looked at as a role model (celeb or average joe), chances are SOMEONE will look up to them in some way. That comes with a position of power. Everyone fucks up no matter what according to someone else. What I may see as a teacher making a mistake, someone else won't. What I see as a parent being irresponsible or "wrong", someone else won't. It's just all in how you look at it. And if you're going to look up to someone, you have to be able to distinguish between what really matters and what doesn't. Okay, so Nick Carter getting arrested for drunk driving isn't too good for him, no matter if he was a celeb or not. However, that doesn't make me admire him any less; I think he's hella talented and the fact that he's screwed up in life a few times doesn't change that for me. |

| Yeah I agree it was super dumb of him to do. I've lost respect for him. No excuse, really there isn't one.
And yeah I agree with you too Allie. People become role models sometimes by accident and you should be responsible. Still people, especially younger kids and teens, should know the difference between reality and the "celebrity world," that's my biggest problem. Kids can't RELY on the celebrities you know? |
